Videogames | RADIO STATIC REVOLUTION

I've loved videogames since I was six and bought my first game, Pokemon White Version. I'm no longer a fan of Pokemon, but I have good memories with the game and it made me want to play more turn-based RPGs.

All of my consoles/mini classics:

Nintendo 3DS

The first console which was actually my own rather than my parents'. It's the original model and has been jailbroke, so I know play GB, GBA, SNES and NDS games through emulation. I often use it to listen to music when out of the house.

Nintendo Wii

Has been jailbroke and is the best console I have in terms of how much games it can play and the variety of consoles it emulates. I honestly prefer it over the PS4.

Playstation 4

Planning on getting a new PS4 or a PS5, because this PS4's disk drive is broken and set my sibling's Stardew Valley disk on fire.

NES Mini Classic

Has been jailbroke, but I rarely use this, as I prefer the mini SNES. Having the NES remotes is cool though.

PS1 Mini Classic

In it's vanilla state, I think the PS1 Classic is beyond underwhelming and I wouldn't recommend it. It has a questionable game selection (Intelligent Cube? Seriously?) and poor emulation quality. Despite that, it's decent if you're planning to mod it.

SNES Mini Classic

I received this as a present for my eighth birthday and ended up falling in love with the SNES's game library. Like many of my other consoles/mini classics, it's modded.

My favourite games

Omori

A short RPG which you won't forget. Despite technically being a horror game, Omori is more sad than scary.

I didn't expect to relate to the protagonist, Sunny, as much as I did. The ending had a positive message and large impact on me.

Persona 4 GOLDEN

I love the characters in P4G. By the end of the game, they all felt like real people and my friends.

There are so many funny moments with them that it's impossible not to end up loving them. Despite those humorous moments, it's story has many serious themes. I could go on praising this game for paragraphs.

Doki Doki Literature Club!

The only game which has ever scared me. DDLC had a big affect on me and after playing I couldn't stop thinking about it.

The game is a clever meta-horror which has layers upon layers of depth. All the characters are well-written and interesting depictions of mental health struggles.

Ocarina of Time

Whilst not my first Zelda game, my love for OoT can't be understated.

OoT has a bittersweet feeling to it, the air of a childhood which has passed but looked back on fondly. It's a trulywonderful game.

The World Ends With You

A game which takes advantage of the features of the DS to make a truly unique experience unlike anything else.

With a great art style, one-of-a-kind gameplay mechanics and a good story, TWEWY is my favourite game on the DS.

Final Fantasy 7 (1997)

What can I say about FF7 which hasn't been said before? A classic turn-based battle-system, good characters and one of the best stories ever told.

I've played FF7 quite a bit now and each time is just as good as the last.
